Vintage small Edgar Bergen Charlie McCarthy puppet doll by Effanbee...marked on back of neck. Have not seen this unique design before in this brown suit and boater style hat. Has composition bottom leg, hands and head with attached monocle. Dapper fellow in his checkered suit with shirt, tie and shabby paper hat that says Kiss Me Kid. His pull string is not working so his mouth just hangs open a bit showing those little teeth. Smaller than other similar I've seen at only 16 inch tall. Shows age wear with some nicks, scratches and spots to composition with some tiny crack lines on both sides of his upper mouth...some age spotting to clothing and his shirt is very tattered and torn along the front...chipped edges to his jacket button...thin paper hat is delicate with a little hole along rim and very tattered paper banding with looks like maybe missing a feather...again his mouth puppet mechanism is not working...*have not removed clothing for full body condition inspection. *Please note photos
